All of us have been puzzled by certain skin growths at some point in our lives. These can be harmless, but they could also point to something more serious.
Take for instance moles. Moles are harmless skin blemishes that most of us have since birth. But, there is another type of skin marks – red ones, which are not as typical as moles are. These commonly appear in people over 40, although the possibility of their appearance during adolescence and childhood is not excluded either.
What causes most concern about this type of skin marks is their color, which is why people often call them “ruby points.” Although these marks can be removed surgically, the question remains why they actually appear.
As explained by dermatologists, red spots on the skin are in fact small capillary dilations, which occur as a result of vascular system malfunction. They normally appear in the arms and chest, either scattered around the skin, or concentrated on one small area, in which case they could also be small benign tumors.
Should you worry about the red spots on your skin? Is there a way to remove them?
First of all, there’s no need to worry as these skin growths are completely benign. They do pose an aesthetic issue, especially for women, and can easily be removed surgically or with the help of natural treatments.
